PATCH INSPECTION
FIELD NOTES / WOOD
Test first. In this simulation, narrow jets and prolonged contact roughen the boards. A broader fan and steady movement help preserve them. Reset the patch to compare tips.
Follow the grain. The boards run left to right. Use overlapping horizontal passes. Wood intact measures unmarked area; with grain measures the share of spray applied while moving along the boards.
Inspect before continuing.Pass the test with at least 97% wood intact and 55% of spray along the grain. These are game goals, not real-world safety thresholds.
Real wood varies by species, treatment, and condition. Follow the board and washer instructions; a brush-and-hose clean may be appropriate. Kärcher’s wood-care guidance ↗
